On March 27, they both bagged the iHeartRadio “afrobeats artist of the year.” Other notable artists in the category were Ckay, Burns Boy, and Fireboy DML.

iheartMedia and Fox Entertainment sponsored the show at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and it was hosted by popular actor and singer Lenny Kravitz.

The contemporary R&B and Alté singer Tems, popular for her vocals, also bagged a second award during the show. She received the award for hip-hop song of the year in the award show for her contribution to Future’s “Wait for You.”

With this new award, Wizkid could be said to have 145 awards throughout his music career. He named Africa’s most awarded artist according to Africa Facts Zone, as no other African artist has been able to achieve this feat. Big congratulations to him and Tems.
