Sza Recently Named Billboard Woman Of The Year

During the 5 years since her debut album, Sza has won a Grammy for her collaboration with Doja Cat on “Kiss Me More” and also received the Women in Music Billboard Award in 2019 for “Rule Breaker.”

Sza has blessed us with a lot of hit songs from her SoS album, most of which have dominated TikTok trends.

Ever since her debut in 2017, she has been releasing hit songs, especially in the R&B space, that have been topping charts.

Her debut album, “Ctrl,” in 2017, did really well. The album was picked at number 1 for billboards’ “Top R&B albums,” and on billboards’ “Top R&B/Hip Hop albums,” it was picked at number 2. The album went on to be certified platinum in three different countries by Riaa. The album was also picked at number 3 on the Billboard 200 and has been on the chart ever since, making it the longest album on the chart for a black woman at about 295 weeks and counting.

Last year, SZA released her sophomore album, “Sos,” and it immediately started setting new records for her. It picked up the top spot at Billboard 200 and has above 400 streams in the U.S. The album had the 3rd largest stream for its release week compared to other 2022 albums and the 2nd largest for a female artist.

The 33-year-old artist has indeed had a great career since her debut in 2017. Some other artists who won “woman of the year” are Cardi B in 2020, Billie Eilish in 2019, and Olivia Rodriguez in 2022.

SZA would be given her award on March 1 at the Billboard Women in Music Awards show, which would take place at the Hollywood Park in Los Angeles.

Sza would go on her first arena tour this year, which would kick off on February 21 in Columbus, Ohio.

We can’t wait to see all the new records she would set in the R&B space!
