The Music Business Academy for Africa (MBA For Africa), is a program dedicated to training and developing an informed and empowered workforce for Africa’s Entertainment Industry. It was founded and curated by Godwin Tom of iManage Africa, in partnership with MusicAlly and ChartMetric; and in collaboration with Carlos Chiniros PhD of New York University’s Music Business program. The five month program teaches about the Music Business in Africa, Business Structure of the Industry, Music and the Law, A&R and Music Development, Marketing Management, Events and Touring.
Another unique aspect of the MBA program is a Talent Project where the students are assigned to develop 5 Artistes together with Producers and Song Writers in other to gain a first hand real life industry experience. After the completion of the 5 months program, the students have developed the 5 Artistes to release two different EPs in less than 3 months… Amazing, right! 😉
