Fireboys’ hit single “Peru” featuring Ed Sheeran just won the “Best Collaboration Award” at the Urban Music Awards 2023 held in the UK.
Fireboy has been nominated for other international awards like “Best International Act” at BET, “International Song of the Year” at the Brit Awards, “Outstanding International Awards” at the NAACP Image Awards, and “Song of the Year” at the African Entertainment Awards USA, all of which he didn’t win. So this win is very important for him.
The superstar received the award on Tuesday night, February 28, 2023, at the Porchester Hall in London, and it was broadcast live on Voovix TV.
The Founder and President of the Urban Music Awards, Jordan Kensington, commented: “The UMA’s at its core has always been about mentoring, nurturing, and assisting the next generation of artists, as well as celebrating the present class of amazing breakthrough talent.”
2023 marks the 19th anniversary of this award show, and hopefully more urban music stars like Fireboy in Nigeria and around Africa will bag more of the award.
Fireboy has been doing so well for himself in the past years that his upcoming tour is set to begin on 17th March,2033. It promises to be a blast, just like every other project expected of him.
