In preparation for the release of his seventh studio album, “I Told Them…”, Burna Boy has delighted fans with the debut of his latest single, “Big 7.” The album is scheduled to drop on August 24 under the labels Spaceship/Bad Habit/Atlantic Record.
The accompanying music video for “Big 7,” directed by Benny Boom, was filmed in the vibrant city of New York and boasts appearances from notable figures such as RZA, Busta Rhymes, Junior Mafia, and actor Shameik Moore.
According to Burna Boy, “Big 7” is a melodious tribute that signifies embracing new musical heights. The title itself represents an ambitious aspiration for reaching greater horizons, with the number seven symbolizing attainable and harmonious growth.
This new release comes after Burna Boy’s successful single “Sittin’ On Top Of The World,” featuring 21 Savage. Additionally, he recently collaborated with Saint Kittian artist Byron Messia for a fresh rendition of Messia’s breakthrough track, “Talibans,” titled “Talibans II.”
Last summer, Burna Boy’s album “Love Damini” captivated listeners with its 19 tracks featuring appearances from artists like Ed Sheeran, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Khalid, and J Balvin. Praised by Rolling Stone as an urgent, heartfelt, and deeply personal portrayal of his struggles, triumphs, and aspirations, the album introduced Burna Boy’s expansive sounds and high-minded hymns to a broad audience.
